Learning in a Safe Space

Resolution for 2025: Keeping up the safe space

For my mental health, I usually refrain from commenting on politics. Today, I feel compelled to break this rule and speak out. In Germany, history revisionists yell their devoid phrases from the chancel, echoed by those who struggle with recent politics and are afraid of the future. Some tech companies explicitly allow their users to call others “mentally ill” who live differently. My voice may not stop the cruel rhetoric that hurt my friends and colleagues from minority communities.

Still, I want to make one thing very clear:

No matter where you come from, what kind of community you are part of, or what your beliefs are, you are welcome in my training and team.

The moment you enter my classroom, you are entering a safe place where everyone is accepted as they are. You may ask all your questions and learn with the rest of us as a part of us, not as a minority. Share your thoughts, and live your curiosity!

Science and learning are the bridges that connect us; nobody needs phrases that build walls. Yelling belongs to the darkest corners of history, not our shared future. A safe space is the foundation of bridges that take us beyond rivers and seas once thought impassable.

I have seen young people grow in safe spaces beyond themselves and do things they didn’t believe they could. Free from the burden of differences, they can focus on learning and growing instead of worrying about their surroundings. They learn faster, better, and with greater joy.

Like in previous years, the idea of a safe space is my promise and commitment for 2025. Loud voices may dominate the media, but be assured: countless others accept you as you are. Enough people reflect and practice acceptance and introspection—not just me.

I slowly understand that my life is only about building bridges. What bridges will you build in 2025?
